East Meets West

To continue with the Eastern theme of last night's Met Gala and Exhibit, China: Through the Looking Glass, and Chanel’s South Korean inspired 2016 Cruise Collection, it seems like no better time to showcase one of my new favorite Spring frocks by fashion designer, Vivienne Tam, who is most definitely having a moment with her latest Spring 2015 Collection. This season she masterfully executes the key aesthetic of the label that embodies the perfect blend of Eastern influence and Western design.

Most of the pieces in this collection use sporty fabrics such as stripes and mesh, with bright accents of Eastern embroidery and and laser cut appliqué. Think, traditional Chinese flora and fauna with a modern New York City edge. I see this collection as the perfect Spring wardrobe in Soho.

Here, I'm wearing my favorite S/15’ Vivienne Tam dress as a tunic over white lace pants—influenced by the F/W 15' runway of Tome NYC.
