Don't Mesh With Me

Recently I've found myself gravitating towards all black—not my typical aesthetic. The question: Has New York finally sunk in after almost three years downtown? Or is this where you end up when you live and breathe fashion? Either way I find myself wanting to wear mostly, if not all, black, and it must transition seamlessly from night to day.

Here, Sally LaPointe designed this gorgeous luxe mesh skirt and top, which I prefer to style as a set. LaPointe understands the sport-formal, day to night versatility of clothing and style that is essential for life in the city. Subtly fashion forward—minimalist elegance with an edge.

We've been seeing basic white sneakers paired with maxi dresses, formal evening attire and even silk slips all over the streets and runways for several seasons now. To be different I paired the look with strappy Aquazzura pumps, complimenting the top and overall design. The only option left to make this outfit suitable for daytime is with the appropriate bag. If you styled this with a clutch it's too formal, too night. It's the white crocodile backpack that brings it all together. My infatuation with the bag grew to love when I realized that I could easily fit my Macbook and other daytime work essentials!
