Week 1 🎂 Greatest week of our lives:

I keep recounting the moment of Claire d’Lune’s birth one week ago. I held her hand straight out of the womb while she took oxygen into her lungs and felt the atmosphere between her fingers and toes, gently whispering in her ear as she was weighed, measured and inked.

From there we immediately went into 24 hrs of stories and important things I’ve been wanting to tell her, music listening, and just figuring things out as they happened. The universe threw in a little comic relief when our suitcase refused to open. I kept saying, “don’t worry Claire, daddy will get the suitcase open.” Claire’s first example of trouble shooting.

What we started in those first few hours has continued at home the last 7 days, creating initial impressions imbedded in the unconscious, the foundation of life that becomes a part of your DNA and the essence of our being. Reading books, singing and humming, looking up at the trees and birds on our strolls, showing her high contrast pictures and listening to so much music. Each day has a theme and is a way of continuing my Masters thesis on music therapy and the effects of specific music in the womb and now with newborns. Brahms 3, movt. III is our 7am ritual, she goes into a full lull for this one, recalling it from the womb.
