Would You Wear Plastic?
My latest article for Yahoo Style UK is centered around the recurring theme of wearable plastics on the SS16 runways, from NY to Paris. And the Dutch designer at the forefront of innovation in technique and material, Iris van Herpen. This raises a discussion on the recently revealed theme of the next years Met Exhibit/Gala of how fashion will transform in the age of technology.
I go on to explore my personal dreams in regards to advances in fashion technology. Steve Jobs once said that the computer is like the bicycle of the mind, meant to be an extension of us and allow humankind to be capable of much more. Then how will technology in relation to clothing and fashion optimize our capabilities?
