Home for The Holidays

I styled this unlikely holiday look based on the first floor of Freeman's Restaurant. When I think of Winter in New York—specifically The Bowery/Nolita—the visual and taste that comes to mind is always Freeman's. The ambiance and décor in this neighborhood institution is unparalleled—with it's dark woody color palette, taxidermy and upstairs cozy library. You feel like you're in someone's home. Yet, I would never just love a restaurant for the design, so I'll tell you why the cuisine stands out as well. Several of my favorite dishes (Lamb Shepard's Pie) are served in a caste iron dish, meaning it's going to stay hot and warm you up from the inside out on those cold Winter nights.

I have to thank the Freeman's team for so graciously allowing me to come in and bring this editorial to life. I truly appreciate establishments in New York being open and friendly to the idea, as it allows me the opportunity to tell a unique story with my work.
