Trend Report: Polka Dots
The polka dot is not a pattern one might immediately associate with high fashion, yet the polka dot will forever remind me of the first piece of clothing that made me feel totally myself. A two tiered polka dot skirt, and I lived in it. It made me feel just right.
Artist Yayoi Kusama has been obsessed with the polka dot for over 50 years and has been covering her art exhibitions and dressing some of her favorite celebrities such as George Clooney in this playful pattern.
One of my favorite polka dot pieces of the season is this two piece number with oversized dots by Ji Oh. An original take on the dot.
Small or large, this pattern was all over the runway this season.
