Milan Cathedral

A magical last morning in Milano, waking up bright and early, not for a fashion show, but to see the most breathtaking view atop Duomo Cathedral before it gets busy. This vantage point must be the most peaceful place to watch the sunrise in Milan, and a fairytale-like amusement for the eyes with its epic sculpture of pinnacles and spires. You must go up to the roof to truly appreciate the details and grandeur of the cathedral.

Milan Cathedral is the largest church in Italy, outside of St. Peter's Basilica in the State of Vatican City. Construction of the Lombard Gothic style cathedral began in 1386 and the  entire facade as we know it was completed around 1805 (or later!) Let's just say it took well over 500 years to built.
