Prisoner Of Art
These images come from a totally improvised editorial session with my girl Kez.
I styled this entire look and feel in the moment.
Honestly, it felt good to open my clarinet cases which have been closed for so long.
Decades of memories, struggles, accomplishments, anger, joy, disappointment, pride, fear, confidence . . . . and anything else humans are capable of feeling.
Raw emotions that had been pushed through these hollowed wooden tubes, I found myself resting among the broken pieces.
A prisoner of art, this series taps into the idea of having to give yourself—body, mind and spirit—to the craft. The continuous struggle of the artist—a beautiful and maddening cycle. A desire to conquer something greater than yourself, and in doing so the deep understanding and loss of ones self. Finding and losing yourself simultaneously.
